A cheque to support professional integration

During the final days of Fashion Week, Sup de Luxe, a leader in higher education in the luxury sector, and its Alumni Association brought together a number of key players for a committed event: the presentation of a cheque to the "La Fabrique Nomade" association. This initiative marks an important step by the institute in favor of social integration and the promotion of craftsmanship in the luxury industry.

Sup de Luxe and its graduates take a social approach: a cheque is presented to the association "La Fabrique Nomade"

A cheque for 34,250 euros to promote and support the professional integration of migrant and refugee craftsmen in France.

Today, social and environmental responsibility has become a major issue in the luxury sector. Aware of the stakes, Sup de luxe and its Alumni Association organized their first charity gala on the occasion of the institute's 30th anniversary, in aid of "La Fabrique Nomade". This association was chosen as the beneficiary of this initiative because of its exemplary commitment to the training and integration of refugee and migrant craftsmen. "We felt it was important to support a societal cause that shares common values with the institute, such as transmission and insertion", explains Marie Seignolle, President of the Alumni Association.

Thanks to the generosity and commitment of historical partners* present at the charity gala, Sup de Luxe and the Alumni Association were privileged to raise the sum of €34,250 at the charity auction held in partnership with Christies. "This donation will enable us to continue and perpetuate our actions in support of artisans around the world, so that they can continue to practice their craft in France," explains Ghaïta Tauche-Luthi, communications manager for "La Fabrique Nomade". "Our support also helps to restore the confidence of craftspeople, so that they don't default to so-called shortage sectors, due to the many barriers, such as language or non-recognition of their qualifications," she adds. Today, in its boutique-workshop on the Viaduc des Arts in Paris, the association concentrates its activities on three areas of expertise: sewing, embroidery and jewelry.

The start of a social commitment linking luxury and inclusion at Sup de Luxe

"Craftsmanship plays a central role in the luxury industry, which is why it is essential for us to promote and preserve these exceptional trades. This first action with 'La Fabrique Nomade' is the fruit of our shared desire to develop a societal dynamic, where luxury and insertion combine harmoniously", said Thibaut de La Rivière, President of the Institut Supérieur de Marketing du Luxe (Sup de Luxe). "We are proud to support their noble cause and look forward to collaborating on future projects aimed at providing opportunities and promoting craftsmanship," he added.

The success of this first action initiated by the Alumni Association opens up the prospect of collaborative projects between the Institute, alumni and "La Fabrique Nomade", around actions to promote craftsmanship and social inclusion. "We are convinced that a long-term collaboration would create a lasting positive impact both in the lives of refugee and migrant artisans, and in the luxury goods sector" expressed Thibaut de La Rivière.

*This charitable initiative was made possible thanks to the generous support of the school's 20 partners: Balmain, Bernardaud, Cartier, Armagnac Castarède, Cèdre & Spa, Cerruti, Diptyque, Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Heavenly, Dali Haute Parfumerie, Jaeger-LeCoultre, JC Rocher, Mellerio, Montblanc, Piaget, Rose et Marius, Springer & Fersen, Van Cleef & Arpels, Vranken-Pommery.

About La Fabrique Nomade:

Founded in January 2016, the association works to enhance and promote the professional integration of migrant and refugee artisans in France. Passionate men and women with know-how acquired in their countries of origin encounter many obstacles to their professional integration as craftspeople in France. La Fabrique NOMADE advocates a new model of integration, which takes into account the individual and his or her career path, identifying the skills acquired, and studying the possibilities of adapting and transferring them to the French economic and cultural context. The association's work enables craftsmen to rediscover their trade, their place in society and, above all, to give new meaning to their lives after exile.
